Hello again my fellow reviewers, I am very pleased to do my review of the Puerto Vallarta Mexican restaurant in Gig Harbor today. My family and I have not eaten at this restaurant in 10 years even though we live about 7 minutes from it. And that was because we had a bad experience in 2014. We had a late lunch /dinner around 3:00 p.m. and for us it was a perfect time they were not very many people and it allowed me to take many pictures and check out the restaurant. First off they gave us some very fresh tortilla chips with salsa and also a bean dip which was absolutely delicious! I ended up getting a chicken and tortilla soup as an appetizer which was delicious and then we ordered a fiesta platter which came with taquitos and nachos and cheese and a few other items which is very delicious. We noticed that they are very generous with the portions so if you spend $15 or so dollars on a meal you definitely get your money's worth. I wanted to try their Pollo asado which I happen to be a big fan of, you can see all the pictures because I wanted to showsome highlights. Restaurants very lively I like the colors even the menus I was very thrilled to see they're almost like heavy leather and very quality made. So I can see how the restaurant does get crowded on Fridays and Saturdays. My wife had a margarita which she enjoyed but my daughter and I really enjoyed their regular lemonade. All I know is a very pleasurable experience especially after such a long hiatus! So I certainly do recommend going in and having a lunch or dinner. I think anyone would just really enjoy themselves. Just to put some perspective for the three of us with all the food we ate it came out to around $140 James...
I came in here for lunch while my dad had surgery nearby. The service was very good. I like the beans and salsa that came with the chips. I got fajitas off the lunch menu. The flour Tortillas were yummy. I would come back again if I lived nearby.
We ordered takeout from Puerto Vallarta in Gig Harbor and had a solid experience. The food was good, nothing that totally blew us away, but still very satisfying. What really stood out were the portion sizes…huge! Definitely great value for the price. Everything was packaged well and still warm when we got home. Would order again when we’re craving hearty Mexican comfort food.
Great food, large parking area, great staff that accommodates large groups and is very attentive. The happy hour is a great option to get out to a fun atmosphere. Patio is nice too. Great place for drinks too
09/22/25 We've really liked this location since they opened, and even more since they added the outdoor seating. Their Vallarta Special [Taquitos ?] has consistently been a favorite since they opened. Their Pollo en Mole has also been a favorite of mine for a long time. However, recently the Mole sauce seems to be more red than dark brown, having lost a lot of the chocolate flavor. I like the spicyness, but it's just not as good as the old original sauce. I did like the newer presentation. Overall, still recommended, but I wish they'd go back to the better Mole recipe.
Went there with another person and ate lunch on Saturday at noon. We were day immediately and didn't wait long to order. The menu is very large and there is a lot to choose from. We had the shrimp tacos and a chicken chimichanga. There were plenty of shrimp in the taco. The coleslaw was on the sweet side but I prefer that in a shrimp taco. The chimichanga was stuffed with chicken. The tortilla could have been a little crisper but the flavor was very good. The homemade guacamole was also fresh and excellent. Chunky like it should be. The atmosphere is festive with colorful decor. It was quiet while we were there and we didn't hear the other diners at all. It was a very clean establishment all around. The staff was very friendly. Overall a great experience and we'll definitely be back
The bar setting is great, especially if you want to watch sports. Second time going recently and it was great. Recommend coming at a time when less people are going to be there if you don’t want to wait since it seems to always be busy. Food was delicious and service was excellent. Definitely recommend.
